GigaTime Foundation
GigaTime Foundation is an off shot of Esscare Hope Centre, which was an initiative started in October 2006 by members of a “Care Group” within a church. It later evolved to become a charitable Foundation aime at empowering and contributing significantly to the ever increasing demands of improving lives of disadvantaged persons. The motivating factor remains their strong conviction that the bane of any society is the development of its members, especially the vulnerable ones. Women, children and youths (young adults) are known worldwide to suffer the most discrimination within the societies including in most family unit, thus the focus of the foundation on this disadvantaged group. The ultimate aim of the project therefore is to enable our beneficiaries become productive members of the societies and their individual families through sustainable income generation and economic growth.
The Foundation identifies beneficiaries who are then empowered, encouraged and supported by improving their capacities and competitiveness in the local economy through the provision of social and economic skills or academic support as needed. Empowerment and Development programs are then offered to Women and children; handicaps, young offenders rehabilitation facilities, orphanages as well as to unemployed youth including those who have no opportunity to further their education for one reason or the other and are seeking opportunities to access to employment. All beneficiaries are also provided with mentorship and counselling support
Examples of projects successfully completed include:
- Opportunities to further Education including some physically challenged
- Support to the upkeep and well being of children in two orphanages
- Vocational Training
- Skills acquisition such as make up artistry, production of different oils, bread making, pastries and cake,
- ICT and computer courses
- Auxilliary nursing Training
- Shoe and bag making
- Poultry and fish farming to members of the home for the physically challenged
- Promotion of self help support and saving scheme for Women
- Business development & Management skills
- Personal Enhancement & Development Programs
- Leadership and citizenship training to Secondary school children around Ibadan
